Cabot Creamery Co-operative is an award-winning cheese and dairy product manufacturer based in Vermont. In 2017, Sammel Group partnered with Christine Burdick Design to redesign and revitalize the Cabot Farmers’ Store located in Waterbury Center, VT.
This store is one of Waterbury’s most popular tourist attractions, alongside Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory and the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. This location provides the perfect backdrop for them to showcase their products, tell story of their company, and convey their pride in being a co-operative with over 800 farmers.
Challenge
To provide a fresh new space that would allow for the thousands of visitors a year to explore the many offerings in a free flowing friendly environment while providing a modern Vermont experience.
Solution
The redesign of the store included a new floor plan layout and custom-built displays. This allowed them to show and sell more products in a brighter, more open environment with good sight lines throughout the store. We built a custom kitchen featuring an antique stove for them to host cooking demonstrations. We also developed new artwork to showcase the farmers of the co-operative along with their families, and we added branding elements like custom printed wallpaper and window graphics to create a consistent branding message that speaks to the quality of their produce and the community they represent.
Result
The overall change was dramatic; the new branded space is highly appealing, and the work was carried out with minimal disruption to their business operations.
